Fitness and athletics has always been apart of my life. As my days of sports came to an end, personal training became a passion. Six years ago, I began teaching as an undergraduate at Ashland University in all types of classes such as indoor cycling, boot camp, body sculpt, abs, water aerobics, step aerobics, kickboxing, mat Pilates and circuit training classes. From there, I became involved in Wellness Clubs to promote healthy living and implement wellness activities on campus. I was offered a Group Fitness internship at The Ohio State University where I went through an extensive in-house training program that focused on exercise science principles, leadership, and customer service.
After graduation I attended The University of Akron in Ohio where I became the Fitness and Wellness Graduate Assistant at their Student Recreation Center while in the Exercise Physiology Master’s program. I helped manage the Group Fitness, Personal Training, and Wellness screenings, assessments, and promotions programs. As part of the Graduate program I also did a full year internship at a Cardiac Rehabilitation Center where I developed exercise prescriptions for non-traditional exercisers, including people with obesity, diabetes, heart disease, pulmonary disease and other chronic conditions.
Currently I am a Personal Trainer at Fitness 360 in Stockton, California where I specialize in weight management and sports conditioning. Needless to say, I absolutely love fitness, breaking a sweat, and making people feel better about themselves. I’ve experienced all types of fitness communities and the common theme that keeps me motivated is seeing participants positively change their life. There is nothing better than to help educate others on how to live a healthier lifestyle through proper nutrition and exercise and see the results they are looking for through hard work, consistency, and dedication!
